Dinovite for Dogs is a powder you put on top of your dog's food. The brand calls it a "3-in-1 Daily Booster" for her tummy, her skin and coat, and her immune system[1]. Its homepage talks a lot about itching, licking and hot spots[2].

You pick a bag by your dog's size. There are small, medium, large and giant bags that last 90 days. There are 30-day bags too, plus a bundle for homes with a few dogs[1][3].

Dinovite has been around for more than 20 years. A company called Manna Pro bought it in 2021[4]. Now the bottom of the website says Compana Pet Brands[2]. The site says it's made in the USA with ingredients from here and from other countries[1]. They also sell a puppy powder, dental stuff, fish oils and treats[2].

What's on the Dinovite label

The first ingredients are ground flaxseed, ground sorghum (a grain), yeast, kelp (a sea plant) and yucca. Then comes a fiber called FOS. Further down you'll see vitamin E, zinc, alfalfa and six B vitamins[1].

The rest of the list is the probiotic part. There are seven kinds of good bacteria. There are also two things made with Aspergillus, a mold people use to make foods like soy sauce[1]. That's why some reviews say eight or nine probiotics. It just depends on how you count.

Here's the label's guaranteed analysis. It's all per gram:

Calories 34 per scoop (1 tablespoon)

The label also prints 4,000 kcal per kg. Source: dinovite.com, Dinovite for Dogs product page, checked October 5, 2026.

The label also lists calories. It says 34 calories per scoop, and a scoop is 1 tablespoon[1]. If your pup is watching her weight, those scoops count.

What Dinovite does well

Let's start with the good stuff. Dinovite is easy to read. Lots of dog supplements hide the amounts. Dinovite shows you the omega-3, zinc, vitamin E and microbes in each gram[1]. That makes it easy to compare.

It also packs a lot into one scoop for the price. You get fiber, B vitamins, zinc, vitamin E and a bunch of named microbes. And the price per day is low, mostly on the small and medium bags[1].

It has been around a long time, too. It's owned by a big company and it has a clear 90-day money-back promise[1][6]. That doesn't tell you if your dog will love it. But it does tell you it's a real brand that sticks around.

Where the Dinovite label stops

A border collie mix rests her chin on a kitchen counter between a bowl of ground flaxseed and a salmon fillet, two different sources of omega-3

The omega-3 comes from flax. That's the plant kind. Your dog's body only turns a little of it into EPA and DHA, the omega-3s you get from fish oil[8]. There's no fish oil in Dinovite for Dogs[1]. The brand sells fish oil, but you buy it on its own[2].

There's nothing for joints. No glucosamine, no chondroitin, no MSM and no boswellia[1]. If your dog is young and you just want a food topper, that's fine. If she's older and a little slow on the stairs, you might want those.

There are no mushrooms either. And since flax and sorghum are real food, the powder has calories[1]. If she's on a diet, you'll want to count them.

How much Dinovite you feed

Dinovite tells you to start slow. For the first 10 days you give half. After that, you give the full amount[1].

Feeding chart

How many scoops your dog gets

Dog weight First 10 days Day 11 on
4 to 18 lb ½ scoop 1 scoop
18 to 45 lb 1 scoop 2 scoops
45 to 75 lb 1½ scoops 3 scoops
Over 75 lb 2 scoops 4 scoops

Once a day, or split over two meals. Source: dinovite.com, checked October 2026.

So a 50 lb dog gets 3 scoops a day after the first 10 days. That's about 3 tablespoons of powder on her dinner. Lots of dogs eat a topper with no fuss. Picky pups might push the bowl away. Dinovite says to add a little water or their liquid topper[1].

Dinovite cost per day vs Pet Nugget, by dog size

A man works out supplement cost per day on his phone and notebook while his senior yellow Labrador rests her head on his knee

We took Dinovite's prices from its site in October 2026. Then we split each bag by the number of days on the label[1][3]. If you subscribe, you get 15% off. The site doesn't say how long a bag really lasts at full servings, and the first 10 days are half servings. So think of these as close guesses.

Both on a 90-day subscription. Dinovite: 90-day bag minus 15%, divided by 90 days, full amount from day 11. Pet Nugget: $44 jar minus 25% ($33) for 120 chews, at 2, 2, 3 and 4 chews a day. Dinovite costs less at 31 to 45 lb, 61 to 75 lb and over 90 lb, and for most weights if you skip subscriptions. Prices from dinovite.com and petnugget.com, checked October 5, 2026.

Now let's make it fair and compare subscribe to subscribe. Pet Nugget takes 25% off a 90-day subscription, so a $44 jar of 120 chews drops to $33[5]. Your dog gets 2 chews up to 30 lb, 3 chews for 31 to 60 lb, 4 chews for 61 to 90 lb and 5 chews over 90 lb[5]. We used Dinovite's full amount, the one you give from day 11 on.

Here's the deal. For a 15 lb dog, Dinovite costs a little less. For a 30, 60 or 90 lb dog, Pet Nugget costs less per day. In between those weights the lead flips back and forth, so check your own dog's weight. And if you skip subscriptions, Dinovite costs less for most dogs.

Dinovite is a powder made with flaxseed, kelp, yeast, B vitamins, zinc and microbes. Pet Nugget is a soft chew that tastes like beef. In 2 chews you get six probiotics (500 million CFU when it's made), 100 mg salmon oil, 250 mg glucosamine, 100 mg MSM, 50 mg chondroitin, 25 mg boswellia and 750 mg from seven mushrooms. There's also cranberry, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and biotin[5].

Dinovite wins on B vitamins and the number of microbe kinds. Pet Nugget wins on joint support, fish omega-3, mushrooms and being a chew your dog can eat like a treat. Price is a tie, since it depends on your dog's weight. To be fair, our salmon oil is a small amount. It's 100 mg in 2 chews, so it's not a full fish oil dose[5].

Dinovite guarantee, subscription and returns

A woman checks her phone beside a plain delivery box on the porch while her brown-and-white dog sniffs it, like a supplement subscription arriving

Dinovite's daily powders have a 90-day money-back promise. You need to ask for your refund within 120 days of your order[6]. If you subscribe, read the rules. Only your first order can be refunded. Shipping isn't refunded. And the refund can take up to 30 business days[6].

You can pause or cancel any time with the links in your order emails. But if you say no to a box at your door, there's a $15 fee plus the shipping[7]. So cancel before the next box ships.

Who Dinovite fits, and when to pick something else

A woman walks a happy brown-and-white mixed-breed dog on a loose leash along an autumn path

Dinovite is a good fit if you'd rather skip a subscription, your dog is happy to eat powder on her food, and you want a simple topper with fiber, B vitamins and microbes. It's also nice if you like seeing amounts per gram.

Something else may fit better if she's picky and won't touch powder. Same if you want omega-3 from fish, or if you want joint support in the same daily treat.

Fit check

Which one fits your dog?

Dinovite may fit if…

  • ✓You don't want a subscription
  • ✓She happily eats powder on her food
  • ✓You want a simple food topper
  • ✓You like seeing amounts per gram
  • ✓B vitamins matter to you

Pet Nugget may fit if…

  • ✓She's picky and won't touch powder
  • ✓You want omega-3 from fish
  • ✓You want joint support too
  • ✓You want mushrooms in the mix
  • ✓You'd rather hand her a treat

One more thing. If your dog has a health issue, takes medicine or eats a special diet, ask your vet first. We looked at the FDA's recall and warning letter pages and didn't find any for Dinovite[9]. And if her tummy gets upset after starting any new supplement, stop it and call your vet.
